Im trying to find the file what controls the footer that has the eblah copyright 2006 information i want to add some information to it i know how to do it on phpbb but im new to eblah

You can't actually edit the copyright without messing up your forum, but you can edit your template.html file and add stuff before / after <blah v="$copyright">
