It would probably be good if I learned about forums before trying to put one on my client's site  . . .but what fun would that be??? My son found you all and the selling point for me was the Jesus factor! Most of my sites are Christian and I am VERY careful about using "public" or "free" things because of what is often attached to them. Thanks for being in the loop.
Now. . .I have fiddled with the forum. I have it on the server (my own; makes it easier) and have set up boards. I have used another template that I downloaded from blahdocs.com (nice; I chose "subsilver"). (also noticed one marked "state. . ." that probably is a typo of "slate")
When I type /forum after the url, I get a written index of all the stuff in the directory.
If I type in /forum/blah.pl I used to get the forum page; now I get a "not found" message (this actually happened after I put up the new template) So I messed something up.
Also, I'm on a Mac (but I do use a PC for some web work--like this stuff) but the forums don't look the same on Mac. . .is there a tweak for this?
Anyway, I guess I am calling for help.
Should I put the FTP info here? or do you have a more private place for me to get that to you?

For e-blah tech support, you should go to the e-blah site.  You are more then welcome to post questions here, but they won't be answered nearly as fast, because we all spend most of our time on the e-blah site
